Edmonton Public Schools

Edmonton Public SchoolEPSB is a Catholic School board consisting of nine elected trustees who oversee for a term of four years.  These trustees are responsible for the education of over 98,000 students in more than 200 public learning facilities.

The EPSB programming follows the curriculum of Alberta Education for each grade within the education system.

The EPSB system offers a variety of programs tailored to meet the diverse learning styles, special interests, and needs of all students. 

An essential tool is the Schoolzone Edmonton system, a secure website with information regarding your child’s progress,  attendance, news, and events.

The choice is the foundation of the EPSB District approach to education. They operate with open boundaries allowing families to consider which best suits their needs. Every home address in Edmonton has a designated learning facility. It’s essential to keep in mind that your chosen learning centre isn’t always the closest to your home.

Is my child guaranteed to get into the faculty we chose?

Students are guaranteed entry to their designated if they enroll on April 16. Parents and students may also choose to attend any other facility within the District, as long as:

  • The faculty has space
  • The student meets any entrance requirements of the faculty

Future New Public Schools and Modernization

To keep up with the ever-growing demands for education, EPSB is currently building new facilities or performing major modernizations to existing buildings.

Edmonton Catholic Schools

Edmonton Catholic SchoolsThe ESCD No. 7 is a board consisting of seven elected trustees who oversee for a term of four years. District No. 7 is the fourth largest district in the province and the second-largest Catholic school district west of Metropolitan Toronto, consisting of a total of 104 locations with over 42,000 students.

ESCD follows the curriculum determined by Alberta Education, offered within the context of a Catholic Christian community.

ESCD features an open boundary system, meaning that students are free to enroll at the learning centre of their choice, depending on if there are adequate resources and a suitable education program.

Within each region of the City of Edmonton is associated with a designated feeder school. That means the students within a particular “catchment area” or boundary are entitled to attend specific nearby schools.
